These days, I'm more interested in experiences than things. I'm more into self-care than stuff. I'm in a place now with my life and my business and my finances that if I want something (within reason) I can buy it for myself. So putting together a Christmas list has been a bit challenging. The things I want that I haven't purchased myself tend to be high-ticket items, ya know? So I decided to put together a “Crazy Christmas List” of the items I'd ask for if money was no object.
For some reason, many of these items happen to be gift cards, but in this case, they aren't totally impersonal cop-outs!
If I was a fancy lady, I'd love to get a blowout like once a week. There's nothing better than having an AMAZING hair day, and Drybar is the ultimate indulgence for me. I decided to treat myself to a blowout once last month and it was an instant mood-lifter. I wish I could do this more often, but have a hard time justifying the expense myself. Even a gift card for one blowout would make an amazing gift!
As I mentioned in my previous post, I recently tried out on-demand massage app, Soothe and I LOVED it! Since massages aren't something I typically treat myself to very often, the gift of Soothe credit would be uh-may-zing. I've realized that from years of working on a computer I am starting to turn into somewhat of a hunch back and regular Soothe seshes could really help me combat my hunchy ways.
I've held out this far, but I think I'm finally ready for an Apple Watch. I love that the new version is waterproof so you don't destroy it when you wash your hands. I also love the different bands you can get for it to switch up the look from day to day. I'm partial to the gold one, naturally.
Earlier this year, I decided to cancel my Classpass Membership because they jacked up the price and I wasn't utilizing it like I should be in the midst of all the moving craziness. I've since let my physical fitness slide quite a bit and I really miss using Classpass. Perhaps a gift card would be a good way to get me back in the game.
I had the pleasure of trying out SoulCycle a few times during some promo weeks and I. am. obsessed. Don't get me wrong, I also love Flywheel and Peloton, but there's a vibe and an energy that SOUL has that no other studio does. However, at $34 PER CLASS, it's not something I can afford to do often, so gift cards for classes would be amazing!
Just kidding. I already have some! Eric bought us tickets to see the smash Broadway show last year. We'll finally be “in the room where it happens” on my birthday next month!
An Office Makeover.
One thing I've been wanting / needing to do is to get new furniture for my office space. I am struggling to make best use of the space that I have with the various craft projects and photoshoots that I do. Getting the right storage and setup would make my life and my job so much easier! I've been eyeing several pieces from the Martha Stewart Crafts Collection and I'm thinking of getting a few pieces for my space soon.
A fantastic trip.
I know, I get to go on some pretty fantastic trips for work pretty often, but I'd love to take a real vacation sometime soon. We are starting to try to plan our Europe trip for this coming year, but I hope we can fit a tropical getaway in at some point, too. 🙂 Overwater bungalow? I can only dream of such a thing!
So, what's on your “Crazy Christmas List?”
