A little over a year ago, I was perusing one of the many Facebook groups I'm a part of to procrastinate getting to work. I came across a post from a group member about a little service called Shine. It's a service that describes itself as a daily text to help you thrive. I quickly signed up and it was one of the best things I did for my self-care and mental health in the last year. It's like a daily dose of inspiration, delivered right to your smartphone! ✨
I've made many attempts over the years to adopt a morning routine. I've tried meditation, prayer, reading, journaling, exercise, etc. I'm a little ADD so I tend to just do whatever feels good to me that particular morning, rather than forcing myself into a specific regimen.
The thing I love about Shine is that it comes straight to me, without effort on my part. Each morning I receive an uplifting text that contains an inspirational quote, along with an article that expands upon that day's particular message. The articles are typically very impactful and have actionable advice to help you stay motivated and positive. Here's a little example from today:
I had the pleasure and privilege of meeting the co-founders behind Shine at a dinner in NYC this week. I was so blown away by their passion for the mission of their company: to spread positivity, to encourage everyone to be a little braver and more vulnerable, and to talk more about the real stuff in life. They are precisely the type of people I want to surround myself with, and I am so in awe of all they've done with this simple concept. Plus, cheers to amazing ladybosses, amiright? 🙌🏼
For anyone else who is looking for an extra dose of positivity in their lives (and let's be real– who isn't, these days?!!) I *highly* recommend subscribing to Shine.
Am I the only one who loves things like this?
I'm so passionate about the power of positivity that I joined the #shinesquad to be a bit of an evangelist for the service. I'm making it a bit of a mission to share Shine with as many people as possible, because of how much it's affected me in a positive way.
I hope you love this service as much as I do! (And I think you definitely will.)
